The causes of psychopathy are rooted partly in genetics and brain dysfunction, and partly in deep-seated childhood traumas.
Separating from a psychopath is akin to a death sentence. Regardless of intelligence, financial resources, or social standing, the psychopath has only one goal: the complete destruction of the other, no matter the cost. The psychopath’s greatest fear is being exposed. To prevent this, they will go to any length to divert attention from their pathological personality structure—no lie or intrigue is too great.
Psychopaths possess an almost sixth sense for detecting the weaknesses of their targets. They latch onto these vulnerabilities, exploiting them mercilessly at the exact points where the other person is most needy, and they will not let go. This makes them extremely dangerous.
