Why does the police always respond only when it’s already too late? Why does no one recognize the plight of people who are threatened and terrified? Why are there no psychological support centers at the police and the courts to intervene in such cases? ‘Just words’ – that’s the common argument. The terror happens in public spaces – like with the young doctor – but much, much more often in private areas, behind closed doors … unnoticed by third parties.
The public is still not aware of the catastrophic effects of psychological terror. And the more intelligent people are or the more financial resources they have, the more drastically they can live out their sadistic tendencies. Everyone watches, everyone looks away. Better not to get involved …
In recent years, I have met numerous victims of psychological terror. Two of them took their own lives because they could no longer withstand the pressure, because they found no support or understanding in court, because no one was able to grasp the ‘bigger picture’. A young woman was murdered.
Still, perpetrators are protected and victims are punished.
