Almost defenseless

Every third day, a woman is murdered in Germany because she is a woman. Often, the victims seek protection from the authorities beforehand, too often in vain.

Every day in Germany, a man attempts to kill his current or former partner. Every third day, he succeeds.

In 2022, 119,164 women were affected by domestic violence, 139 of whom did not survive.

This is shown in a statistic from the Federal Criminal Police Office – the only one in Germany that records killings of women based on their gender.

The actual number is likely to be much higher.

Protection for women must begin much earlier! Not only when physical violence occurs!

Before an offender strikes, he has usually verbally attacked his victim over an extended period. Women are insulted, denounced, and sadistically tormented. When the offender runs out of “ammunition” (the duration of the verbal attacks correlates with his communicative abilities), he resorts to physical violence. This happens regardless of educational level or social status. This problem affects ALL layers of our society.

We need a protective organization run by women for women against male aggression. Because even though a small percentage of psychological and physical escalations are initiated by women, the overwhelming majority of perpetrators are men.

It must finally stop that people are turned away by the police as long as “nothing has happened”—from the police’s perspective. As long as it is “just” verbal insults and “just” minor attacks. Lawyers (especially judges) need to be psychologically trained, and divorce lawyers need a “seal of approval” so that perpetrators no longer find supporters who justify their crude actions “in the name of the people.”

Why does our society only take action when it is already too late?
